It may only be me, but I think it’s beginning to cool down!

The day started out with overcast skies and a slight breeze. It was fairly humid, but having the sun behind the clouds helped keep the temperatures down. We were all a little lethargic this morning and didn’t quite get running until a little after 09:30am. The slow nature progressed throughout the day and we took advantage of the water breaks as well as subs. All were well deserved breaks.

We had about 26 people out today. It was great to see a few new faces, as well as a few older faces. Fil brought his one and only friend, Norm, and Dan brough is brother and another out. Despite the good numbers, running two fields turned out to be a little too much to ask. So we switched out teams and enjoyed the sport we came out to play.

The day ended with an extended game of first to three. The three tries came too soon and everyone was willing to keep playing. This commitment was appreciated and we pressed on. A few more tries went by and noon was fast approaching. Cold beer was calling and we all gladly listened. The conversation went from the usual antics to strategies for playing the ‘improve your credit score’ game. A intelligent conversation that was unusal but engaging. No need to worry though, religion and politics soon followed which is the usual conversations when beer is involved.

Overall, it was a good day. I think we are silently enjoying only playing touch once a week. A refreshing change that may not last too long as we will discuss days for mid week touch for the winter time. Keep your eyes on this spot!

Have a great week!
